Following previous success, once again Center for Data Science (CDS) organized an ‘Introduction to Data Science in Python’ workshop.
30 people from various backgrounds (physics, agriculture, astronomy, finance among others) eager to learn about how to get the most out of their data came on 28th and 29th of November to Alan Turing building of Inria Saclay.
On the first day students were introduced to numpy and pandas before having their head spinned with multiple possibilities to do machine learning with scikit-learn on the day two.
We updated our learning material following the remarks given to us on the previous workshop to even better meet the needs and interest of the students. The material was introduced during the workshop and made available to the participants for the future use.
Our team of engineers lecturing at the workshop included Lucy Liu, Guillaume Lemaître, Loïc Estève and Maria Teleńczuk, who were always ready to address problems and questions during the tutorials. We also discussed the personal projects of participants in a relaxed setting, during the coffee breaks and lunches kindly sponsored by CDS.
We are happy to see so many new faces in the data science world and for those who had missed our 2019 workshops we plan to organize another, even more improved ones in 2020.
Stay tuned.
