Workshop “Introduction to Data Science in Python”
A two-day workshop focusing on data science
On March, 13 and 14, the Paris-Saclay Center for Data Science (CDS) organized a workshop entitled “Introduction to Data Science in Python”. The workshop aimed at introducing the Python data science ecosystem. The first day was dedicated to data manipulation, wrangling, and visualization using numpy, pandas, matplotlib, and seaborn libraries. The second day was fully devoted to machine-learning with an in-depth introduction to scikit-learn.
The workshop was taught by CDS engineers (Maria Telenczuk, Joris Van den Bossche, and Guillaume Lemaitre) as well as external experts (Bartosz Telenczuk – independent, Loic Esteve – Inria Paris).
Participants from different institutions of the “plateau de Saclay”
Over the two days, around 30 participants from different institutions engaged into different fields of research of the Saclay area took part of the workshop: notably CATI, CEA-Neurospin, ENSTA, INRA, Inria, Institut des Mines Telecom Business School, Institut d’Astronomie Spatiale, LAL, LATMOS, LLR, ONERA, Universite Paris-Sud.
Soon another edition
Sadly we had to turn down some applicants as there was more demand than available seats. Given the large success of the course we plan to organize a new session in the future.
